I need a good pair of mixing headphone for audio recording and basic field monitoring so I called and actually got Guy on the phone! He assured me for what I was doing the HD280Pro was perfect for my purposes and I have been happy with them since... I would say that the HD280Pro is one of the best headphones I have used in the field. Based on my past experience I had used the industry standard Sony's but I have got to say I get better sound out of the HD280Pro than I ever did with the Sony's.

Hello folks.

I wonder if someone could tell me exactly what I need and how much it would cost? I'm looking to record my own music on my laptop, I know I need a beefier system one day, but it's good for me right now. I'm looking for a pair of headphones that can give me a completely true and un coloured sound when mixing my tracks.
I've looked at so called "monitor headphones" but I wonder if this is, as the name suggests, a headphone version of proffessional studio monitors? I'd like to reiterate, I need a completely clean and un coloured sound from these headphones.

Many thanks!

The magnets in the headphones are very small and not enough to damage miniDV tapes.

Question that maybe you can help answer:

I want to use headphones to edit a DVD which i am putting together from video i have shot. Most (All?) of the headphone's instruction warn against using headphones near magnetic tape, for fear of doing damage to the tapes caused by the magnets in the headphones. Aren't the mini-Dv's magnetic-based? Does using heaphones near them pose a risk to their stored information? Are the warnings about the proximity of headphones tp mini-dv's, or what?

Thanks in advance for your help and information.
