I have one. Compared to an India Sennheiser clone, the mic is a better fit in the cage, in the middle, not offset. There are more adjustments, the blimp is bigger overall, everything is more sturdy and it comes with the cable. It is noticeably heavier, that is about the only thing I can say that is negative about it. There is more air space inside, which might make a better wind reduction system and certainly there is more room for various mics, even a wirelessplug in mic transmitter if I decide to use one.

Debating between DV Creator Sound Package with K-Tek Zeppelin and Rode Blimp. I'm guessing the Rode Blimp would be a better product. If so, how much better? Also, as Guy did with in the demo with another blimp, will the wireless transmitter included with the G2 Evolution fit into both these blimps, along with mic?

Thanks for the site and great products.

this looks very good --- the sennheiser system was too expensive for me --- 2 questions: can the RODE system be attached to a boom pole? I have a GITZO with a female threaded mount. How would a I attach the system to my Sony HDR-FX1? It looks like a similar set up at the front of the camera.
You guys do a great job of finding quality at prices that independent production folks can afford.

[...] For the last few years we have been searching for an inexpensive wind protection system. While we have featured the professional Sennheiser set-up in the DVeStore, the price point was out of reach for many of us. We just couldn’t justify spending $800+ on a serious package. Alas, RODE has developed a solution for us mere mortals to be proud of owning - the all new RODE Blimp. [...]

Rode has produced a well engineered BLIMP. It comes with a hex screw driver for adjustments and
a cute little brush to make the WOMBAT comfie in the wind. I was impressed with the price and
since I received my Rode BLIMP I am impressed with the product 10 fold.
Thanks Guy & the crew at DVeSTORE

Can the Rode blimp and furry be mounted on the Rode SM5 shock mount? I'm considering an NTG-2 for my Sony EX1, and am trying to achieve the best isolated on-camera set-up. Would be very interested in a "kit price" of NTG-2, Rode blimp, SM5 shock mount and cables.
