philhanna started the forum topic Another Sample of EX-1 and Atomos Samurai. Edited in FCP 7 in the group Final Cut Pro 7 and before
Since getting the Atomos Samurai from the DVeStore, I have had a lot of fun and enjoyed the quality of recording in 10 bit 225 MB/sec. The quality is really something. Here is the link if you care to view a few […]

Yep, that worked. I could only get 720 out of it and not 1080, but that is better than what I was getting. Thanks and have a most successful 2012.

Hello Josh and Happy Holidays to you and your family. I recently shot a video of our lighted boat parade. The video came out very well and very large as it was recorded on the Atomos Samurai. I converted it to the […]

Shot the Indian Rocks Beach Lighted Boat Parade Saturday night. Used the EX-1 and the new Atomos Samurai recorder. Wow, what a difference it made in quality.

How or what program converts to PNG Codec?

Thanks, Josh. We will remember that for the next time. We were able to get the video into RealPlayer and convert to WMV from there. I sent you a couple of questions on PromptDog that I would love to get some answers to. I just got an affordable teleprompter and finally can use PromptDog. It [...]

I recently created a video for a physician who is presenting in Orlando tomorrow. He is trying to embed the QT movie we made into his PowerPoint Presentation on a PC. When he left here, I converted the QT into a format he could watch on his PC. Unfortunately, it will not work in PowerPoint. [...]

@jmellicker Hi Josh:
I have been doing some research on inexpensive teleprompters and see a lot of folk pushing the iPad2 as a source. Any chance of a PromptDog for iPad coming out? May be a new market.

Thanks, Josh.
I think it has some nice features but as an old dude, I have to learn a new system all over again. I have been very busy with FCP and no need to change until things slow down. I came from Premiere and if it wasn’t for your training videos on FCP, I would still be trying to learn the program!

Hi all: I have just completed the class on FCP X with Lynda.com and FCP X seems pretty good. As a FCP user for many years and still on FCP 7, I am dragging my feet on making the move. Certainly the program is different than what I am use to and keyboard shortcuts will [...]

I think I figured this out. The problem is two-fold. First, all Jpeg images must be converted to PNG files (Thanks Josh). Second, The Noise Industries FX stuff can’t do 1920 x 1080 Rez. Although, it worked on some clips. When I blew out the Jpegs, no more crashes. So, thanks to all who offered [...]

I export that way too normally. I just tried ProRes 422 and I got a window that said Codec could not be opened. I am rendering now. I took one of the old sequences that I got back from COLOR and converted it or tried to convert it. It gave me the “Does Not Match” [...]

I tried different outputs as well. H.264, ProRes 422HQ. I thought what I would do it just start fresh with a few clips and see what works. What are your settings when you edit?

Hi Chris: Thanks for the response. What is strange is that I am using the same cameras and settings that I normally do. EX-1 footage shot at 1920 x 1080P 24 frames. Clips ate XDCAM EX 1080P24. Timeline Same on timeline. I have been using Apple ProRes settings 422. I noticed some issues when I [...]
