The Looping example is lovely, but it’s hard to carry out without looking at the process step by step. I’m trying to memorize all the steps so I can do a similar animation without referring to the example in the tutorial. That’s what takes me time to learn.

Cinematography: 2 years, 5 months agoI use a Sony Z1U DVD camera. I shoot in 1080i 60i mode. I find this setting gives me a smooth image when I export to DVD. I shot THE RED QUEEN using this setting. I was amazed at the results. THE RED QUEEN is a creative documentary compiled from footage I shot over a period of two years around the subject of rock-n-roll and dance. It’s on imdb and Amazon.

DVD Authoring/Replication: 2 years, 5 months agoI use DVD SP with my FCP 5.04. I make DVDs with no menu — i.e., they play when inserted. I’d love to learn how to put one or two buttons on a menu, so I can have a feature film with a trailer and the full feature on two different buttons. I don’t want music playing or any artwork showing — just two buttons for viewers to click on.

Final Cut Pro: 2 years, 5 months agoI use FCP 5.04 on a G5 2.7 gHz dual processor 4 Megs of RAM, two internal hard drives (1,500 Gigs total and 2×500 gig external hard drives – Seagates on 400 port for storage of excess data.) I’m using a Sony Z1U HDV camera.
Recently I’ve been experimenting with CineFrame 30 to see if I can get better progressive footage for the Internet.

cinematography: 2 years, 8 months agoI did a test with my Sony HVR Z1U and its CineFrame 30 feature, to see if I could output a progressive 30 fps clip without jagging or artifacts. I shot most of the scenes on a tripod. There are a couple of pans and tilts. The I made a self-contained PNG file and encoded [...]

Final Cut Pro: 2 years, 9 months agoI went and trashed the fxfactory plugins and the dmg and now it appears that I didn’t do this right. Hi Vic, you have the Motion PowerStart DVD?
Yes, Josh. The Looping example is lovely, but it’s hard to carry out without looking at the process step by step. I’m trying to memorize all the steps so I can do a similar animation without referring to the example in the tutorial. That’s what takes me time to learn.
