It sounds like you are set up correctly. Are you sure your footage is 2:3:3:2? You can tell by opening your original file in QT and stepping through the frames in QT player.

This article might help also:

I'm shooting with a Panasonic AGVX100B in 24P Advanced. My FCP capture preset is Advanced 2:3:3:2 and my sequence settings are 23.98 fps.

The problem is that when I'm still getting horizontal interlacing. I thought as long as I use the pulldown removal advanced 2:3:3:2 when I'm capturing that I'd be ok.

I'm at a loss here and don't know how to fix this. Any ideas?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have some questions, disputes(?):

1) if the first two frames are "film" at 24 frames per second, then the next two pictures ("Field 1" and "Field 2" at 60 fields per second would have the balls much closer to each other. (Closer to half as close, right? Like the third "Ball" example picture.)

2) You should have left that last paragraph out. Now I have to go study what "cadences" are!!! (Have you done that article yet?)
