   Excellent article. It is true that capturing directly from analog out yeilds a softer image than saving to HDV tape on the Sony cameras. One thing that can be done is to increase the sharpness setting using the picture profile menu. A setting of 15 will create an analog HD signal witht he same sharpness as the HDV signal on 10.
