UPDATE - Flash is no longer supported with the Quicktime 7.3.1 update.
In Quicktime 7.1.5, released today, Flash is disabled, but when encountering a Quicktime movie with Flash tracks, Quicktime will pop up a dialog box asking the user if they wish to enable Flash.
Apple must have heard thousands of complaints from Quicktime authors (such as us) whose content was suddenly rendered blank by the 7.1.3 upgrade.
Not ideal, but much better!
Now, if Apple and Adobe would kiss and make up, and get support for Flash 9 or 10 in QT 7, we’d all be happy
In Quicktime 7.1.3, as a default preference, Flash was disabled in Quicktime. To view some of tutorial movies on our disks you will need to enable Flash in the Quicktime preferences.
Here’s how to enable Flash in Quicktime in QT 7.1.3:
1. Launch Quicktime 7.1.3
2. Select “Quicktime Preferences” from the Quicktime menu
3. Click the “Advanced” tab
4. Enable Flash by checking the checkbox
You will need to quit all programs using Quicktime for the preference change to take effect.
Thank you!
