When using quick spec settings I understand that DV Kitchen is using the x264 codec. But is it also setting the video to prepare for internet streaming? Because I dont see an option or any way to find out?

From what I understand, when choosing this option then the videos wont need to load as long when used with a player like flowplayer. Is this correct? I am using amazon s3 and flowplayer and just want to make sure my videos look good and dont take forever to load.

    Thanks.

Yes, QuickSpecs are all set to “Quick Start” already.

If you make your own recipe, make sure and check the box that says “Prepare for Internet Streaming”.

Awesome and thanks for that Josh. I had tried DVK when it first came out (but felt confusing at the time) and decided to come back and give it another try.

I have already bought a ton of other things from you guys and even got most of my audio and video accessories from you guys ;-)

    Thanks again.

Hey Josh I am now trying to choose the best setting for my training videos I made using screenflow.

Do you have any recommendations on what size and settings to set for screenflow to export to before sending it through DVK?

The videos are all screen capture videos and voice using my yeti mic by Blue.

The finished videos will need to be MP4 and I am using Easy Video Player 2.0 as a player. Also will be using Amazons Cloudfront so I am not sure if it will support x264 for not? Or even if the EVP will support it?

Lately I have been exporting to 720×450 in size and wondering if that is correct or if I should be using 720×480 or something else?

Still a little confused with the setting for DVK? like the video formats? Basic, Improved etc? And the rest of it?

    Any advice?

Cloudfront will support anything… are these free videos or paid?

Here is some great advice for encoding screen capture, let me know if this doesn’t answer all your questions:
