10,000 kbps may not play smoothly on a slower computer, you may want to test this out before deciding on that high a bitrate.
In terms of the gamma, DV Kitchen doesn’t affect gamma.

DV Kitchen 10 months, 3 weeks agoMPEG Streamclip is great, also, I would not convert to .dv files since you are losing a lot of quality… instead, try Pro Res.

It might be a misconfiguration of the FTP settings, could you recheck that section of the documentation?
Also, when you look at the URL it’s trying to access, does anything look funny? Could you post it here?
