Diva Photo/Video Ring Light by Stellar Lighting

Feb 1, 2010 at 9:53 pm in lighting gear by duncan

Every now and then, a product comes along that we get really excited about, be it for function, cost, or innovation. This ring light is definitely one of those items!

This ring light comes with a 5/8″ flexible mount. 18 inch inside diameter. 65watts of power.

This product is photo/video quality fluorescent. (It produces a beautiful soft white look at 5400k). Flicker free.

It also produces a perfectly round large catch light in the subject’s eye. It is ideal for fashion and beauty. What an amazing value! Compared to the LED ringlights at $2000, this is a no-brainer.

Guy, does this light come with its tripod mount/c-stand? This ring light at the Stellar lighting website says it comes with it.

Hi Joe! Thanks for asking. We’re carrying the 5/8″ flexible c-stand mount version. The tripod mount version isn’t as good for video as it would be for a photographer. Since we mostly cater to video professionals, we’re only going to stock the C-Stand version.

    Hello,

65 watt of power fluorescent. How do I see the 60 watt, the amount of light. 60 Watt as a ‘normal’ bulb at home isn’t that much. But 60 watt in ledlight is much more. Can you give me a little more info about this?
    thanx.

CFLs are four times more efficient and last up to 10 times longer than incandescents. A 22 watt CFL has about the same light output as a 100 watt incandescent. The Diva Ring Light outputs the equivalent of 250-300 watts of incandescent!

Thanks for this — I found the Diva Light on eBay based on your writeup. I have it mounted on my Flycam 5000 stabilizer and plugged into a 4aH 100W li-ion Duracell Powersource Mobile for mobile shooting.

It is an absolutely fabulous light for $114, and I’ll be ordering two more. With three of them, you have a professional quality 3-light setup for ~$400 (see this review with sample images at: http://www.lafcpug.org/reviews/review_diva_ring.html)

If you could email me a response too, that’d be appreciated.

I wanted to know how this will work out with my D90? Does it come WITH a stand? I would need to be able to mount the light and shoot through it – even if only done freehand.

Hey,I was digging around your site but couldn’t quite find the information I’m looking for. Do you ship to canada? If so, how much does it typically cost for shipping if time is not an issue.

    Cheers,
    AL
