how to export 16:9 dv to quicktime 16:9 (like the xl2 review)

How was the XL2 quicktime video able to keep it's 16:9 aspect ratio? I can't seam to export it to quicktime like that. I can export fine to 4:3 for video, and have it letter box the remaining area, but I can't seam to get it to work properly to quicktime.

Thanks,

Here's a couple questions for you, which might help me answer your question (unfortunately, Josh isn't around to answer right now...)

Are you using 4:3 video with a matte on it?

Once you export from FCP, what sofware are you compressing it with for the web?

It is shot in 16:9 natively from the XL2 . I will be bringing it into Sorenson Squeeze for flv, wmv, and quicktime formats.

If your timeline is 16:9, exporting with our recommended settings (in the FCP FAQ) will result in a 16:9 file for Squeezing.

Is your timeline 16:9 or 4:3? If 4:3 you'll want to nest it in a 16:9 timeline, or crop the output in Squeeze.
